Why Safenet exists
Determining whether a transaction matches the user’s intent and is secure to execute is hard. A transaction may look routine while sending assets to a manipulated recipient, granting unintended permissions, or changing a Safe’s configuration in an insecure way.Example: Address poisoningA transaction proposes sending USDC to an address that closely resembles a Safe owner’s usual recipient but differs by a few characters. Sentinels evaluate the transaction against the Safenet Charter, flag the mismatch as recipient manipulation, and the result does not receive a secure Validator attestation. With an enabled Safenet Guard, the transaction cannot execute through the normal Safenet path.
How Safenet works
- A proposed Safe transaction is submitted to Safenet.
- Independent Sentinels evaluate it.
- Validators attest eligible secure results.
- If enabled, the Safenet Guard uses a valid attestation to authorize the exact transaction onchain.
Current status
Safenet Aegis is the next planned Safenet release, currently pre-launch. It adds several independent Sentinels, who check Safe transactions against the Safenet Charter in exchange for fees. Validators attest their results, and where enabled, the Safenet Guard enforces those results onchain. SAFE staking rewards incentivize Sentinel and Validator participation, with reward and protocol parameters governed by SafeDAO. Safenet Aegis is planned to launch on Ethereum Mainnet, Gnosis Chain, and Arbitrum. See Contracts and audits for deployment details, the roadmap for timing, and Wallet integration for the current state.Explore Safenet
