The Validator commission described on this page is a proposed value, pending SafeDAO approval, and may change before Safenet Aegis launches.
Before you stake
Before delegating SAFE, consider:- Validator performance: Your rewards depend on the performance of the Validator you select.
- Withdrawal delay: Withdrawing delegated SAFE requires a 2-day waiting period.
- No Validator slashing: Validator stake is not currently subject to slashing, so delegated SAFE is not subject to Validator slashing either.
- Staking risks: Staking still involves smart-contract, protocol, reward, and withdrawal risks.
Choose an interface and Validator
Choosing a staking interface Multiple staking interfaces are available for delegating SAFE. See the available staking interfaces to choose one. Choosing a Validator A staking interface shows the Validators available for delegation. When choosing a Validator, check:- Its participation rate.
- The amount of SAFE already staked to it, since this affects reward weight.
Delegate SAFE
To delegate SAFE:- Open a Safenet staking interface and connect your wallet.
- Choose the Validator you want to delegate to.
- Enter the amount of SAFE you want to delegate.
- Approve the required SAFE token transfer.
- Review and confirm the delegation transaction in your wallet.
Delegating to multiple Validators
You can split your SAFE across multiple Validators by creating separate delegation positions. Each delegation is associated with the Validator selected for that position. Moving delegated SAFE from one Validator to another requires withdrawing it first, waiting for the 2-day withdrawal delay, and then delegating it to the new Validator. See Lock-up and withdrawals for the withdrawal process. After delegating
A staking interface can show your delegation positions, including the selected Validators, delegated amounts, and available rewards. Validator participation determines whether the Validator and its Delegators qualify for rewards under the applicable reward rules. The fixed Validator commission is applied according to those rules.
